So, I am officially living in Amsterdam now. I moved into my room and unpacked my stuff trying to give a bit of a colour to my oh-so-plain room. And I would be quite happy with the result if I haven’t peaked into the room of my new neighbour, a German girl called Helen. She arrived by car, which means she has everything that I don’t. She has her own TV, food for months, a big chair and so much more to be envious about. Yesterday while packing I was really thinking if I shoul bring my favourite mug with me. That maybe arriving with my own mug is a snobby thing.
Even though I would like to complain a bit, I really don’t have the reason to. At least as long as I manage to keep myself out of the local supermarkets. I guess I should be happy that I actually managed to find a supermarket that was open on Sunday, but the price level just took my breath away. Or maybe it’s just that I have never had the reason to worry about things like washing powder or anything else in the cleaning category.
I can’t say much about Amsterdam yet. We had our first little walk in the city and I have to admit that I have completely lost the orientation skills that were very limited to begin with. Maybe tomorrow will be more successful, because waking up before 4am hasn’t had such a good effect on my concentration skills.
